NETSCAPE-NAVIGATOR

Posted by Unknown , Thursday, December 3, 2009 4:40 PM

Netscape webbrowser has the life cycle of 12years slowly -         disappeared in the year 2002 since from 1990

Netscape Navigator was based on the mosaic web browser, which was co-written by marc andreessen

Netscape announced in its first press releaseon 1994,
it would make Navigator available without charge to all
 non-commercial users.

Beta versions of version 1.0 and 1.1 were indeed freely downloadable in November 1994 .

with the full version 1.0 available in December 1994. Netscape's initial corporate policy regarding Navigator is interesting, as it claimed that it would make Navigator freely available for non-commercial use in accordance with the notion that Internet software should be distributed for free.

An important innovation that Netscape introduced in 1994 was the on-the-fly display of web pages.
where text and graphics appeared on the screen as the web page downloaded.

Earlier web browsers would not display a page until all graphics on it had been loaded over the network connection; this often made a user stare at a blank page for as long as several minutes.......

IMPORTANTS:
* Netscape Navigator remained the market leader with more than 50% usage share.
The browser software was available for a wide range of operating systems, including Windows (3.1, 95, 98, NT), Macintosh, Linux, OS/2.

MOSAIC BROWSER

Posted by Unknown , Tuesday, November 17, 2009 11:37 AM

Mosaic was the web browser which led to the Internet boom of the 1990s

Development of Mosaic began in December 1992.
Versions 0.1–0.9 were the first developed and released.
Version 1.0 was released on April 22, 1993, followed by two maintenance releases during summer 1993.  Version 2.0 of NCSA Mosaic was released in December 1993, along with version 1.0 releases for both the Microsoft Windows.
An Acorn Archimedes port was underway in May 1994.[citation needed]

Microsoft bought the webbrowser from spyclass for 2million  $

Microsoft modified the spy glass and and renamed it as internet explorer of first vertion released in the market

There is an dispute arrise between microsoft and spyglass ,microsoft pays 8  millon u.s $..

TILL IE 6 THE PROGRAM  IS BASED ON"MOSAIC CODE"

*  In case for  Internet Explorer 7 were audited by Microsoft to ensure that it contained no Mosaic code, and there is no credits for spy glass and mosaic

There is hot thing present in  Mosaic was the first browser written and supported by a team of full-time programmers, which was reliable and easy enough for novices to install, and the inline graphics proved immensely appealing. Mosaic made the Web accessible to the ordinary person for the first time.

Ultimately, web browsers such as Mosaic became the killer applications of the 1990s because they were the first programs to provide a multimedia graphical user interface to the Internet's burgeoning wealth of distributed information services........

Mosaic's popularity of the mosaic loss when the release of Andreessen's Net scape navigator in the year-1994

there is another intresting thing -mosaic is written in c-language

 Features Set:

Deepnet Explorer aims to please with most of the features found in better browsers. This browser includes saved tabs, a limited zoom function, and some add-ons to customize. But Deepnet Explorer falls a bit short when it comes to some additional features like spell checking, a password manager, or automatic updates.
The only stand-out feature is the at-a-glance security found on each tab.

security

Deepnet Explorer does block pop-ups and has anti-phishing. It doesn't however, block spyware or viruses.
You can delete your Internet browsing history and saved passwords just like in Internet Explorer.
Speed & Compatibility:

We had no problems viewing the web quickly and easily using Deepnet Explorer.
